Every business faces at least one or more competitors in their pursuit of a market. In fact, if you don’t have any competition, you had better take some time to validate that you have a viable market for your product or service. And although we may feel capable of developing strategies to take on traditional competitors who look like us, we generally feel less confident in challenging new market entrants with disruptive business models or technologies. As the saying goes, it’s easier to fight the enemy you know than the one you don’t.
