Administrative Co-ordinator, Innovation Space — Job ID 202112

Note: This is an 8-week contract position (35 hours/week)


The Administrative Co-ordinator: Innovation Space, will work with the ventureLAB Innovation Space team to support the strategic and daily objectives of ventureLAB’s 50,000 sq. ft Innovation Space, it’s virtual community, tenants, and members. The Administrative Co-ordinator: Innovation Space will assist in building the Innovation Space community to support initiatives that increase the development of the Innovation Space community, and brand awareness of tenancies and memberships. This includes supporting the planning of events, community building initiatives, daily tenant/member requirements, data management and other duties related to the coordination of the Innovation Space. This role provides the opportunity to work with a wide range of professionals, including the ventureLAB team, clients, tech entrepreneurs, industry executives, public and private sector partners.

Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, this position will mostly work remotely for the duration of this contract. If on-site access is required due to the nature of your position, safety protocols must be followed.


Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, forecasting and execution of the events and workshops within the Innovation Space (or virtually) to meet quarterly targets, including procuring appropriate resources from internal and external vendors as applicable, the usage of available resources and coordination amongst interested parties
  • Support the planning and execution of the virtual and in-person experience between clients, tenants, members, partners, and the ventureLAB ecosystem with measurable impact and outcomes, including Town Halls, virtual engagement, peer groups, socials & internal peer workshops
  • Contribute to regular reporting and impact measurement by supporting the collection and management of Innovation Space data, contract details & related information
  • Support a comprehensive review of the Innovation Space facilities, resources, capacity, offices, and workstations to support usage planning, tenant onboarding, and future space planning
  • Conduct research into ecosystem benefits, perks, resources, and tools that will support tech startups grow their business and accelerate commercialization within the Innovation Space



  • Enrolled in a post-secondary institution program in events, marketing, communications, business, or related-field university or college program
  • A passion for being part of an exciting team looking to make a difference in their work
  • Event coordination experience
  • Customer Service experience 
  • Experience with Google Drive or Microsoft Office Suite
  • Project Management and/or Data Management experience an asset
  • Experience with Salesforce (or other CRM platforms) an asset
  • An interest in technology, entrepreneurship and start-ups

Applicant is:
