Position Profile

Reporting to the Director, Innovation Space, you will work with the ventureLAB Innovation Space team to support the strategic and daily objectives of ventureLAB’s 50,000 sq. ft Innovation Space, it’s tenants, and the greater community. This includes supporting the planning of internal & external events, community building initiatives, daily space and member requirements, and other duties related to the coordination of the Innovation Space. ​​

Responsibilities

The Coordinator, Innovation Space will:

  • Support the departmental operations (execution, day-to-day coordination) of the Innovation Space, in collaboration with the Manager, Innovation Space
  • Support the planning, forecasting and execution of the events and workshops within the Innovation Space (or virtually) to meet quarterly targets, including procuring appropriate resources from internal and external vendors (catering, equipment, etc.) as applicable, the usage of available resources and coordination amongst interested parties
  • Support the daily requirements of managing the onsite facilities, bookings and requests of ventureLAB’s Innovation Space, including, but not limited to on call support, guest management, restocking refreshments, setting up meeting rooms, mail pick up, etc.*
    • *Dependent on COVID-19 Return to Office protocols and guidelines
  • Welcome Innovation Space members, visitors and guests by delivering an exceptional customer experience
  • Support the planning and execution of community initiatives specifically designed to create connections between clients, tenants, members, and the ventureLAB ecosystem with measurable impact and outcomes, including Tenant Town Halls, Socials & internal peer workshops
  • Support the communication of pertinent information related to operations, community building, facilities management or daily changes to tenants
  • Contribute to regular reporting and impact measurement by supporting the collection and management of Innovation Space data, contract details & related information
  • Work with the Manager, Innovation Space to support the administrative requirements of the Innovation Space
  • Support a comprehensive review of the Innovation Space facilities, resources, capacity, offices, and workstations to support usage planning, tenant onboarding, and future space planning

 

Qualifications

 

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary institution program in events, marketing, communications, business, or related-field university or college program
  • A passion for being part of an exciting team looking to make a difference in their work
  • Event coordination experience
  • Customer Service experience 
  • Experience with Google Drive or Microsoft Office Suite
  • Project Management and/or Data Management experience an asset
  • Experience with Salesforce (or other CRM platforms) an asset
  • An interest in technology, entrepreneurship and start-ups

 

Additional Information

 

The nature of this position will require onsite access to the Innovation Space (dependent on COVID-19 Return to Office protocols and guidelines)

 

Please also note that the position availability may be contingent on the approval of the Career Ready Program.

 

This is a one-year contract position (20 hours per week) starting January 4th, 2021 to December 23, 2021.
