Digital Marketing Coordinator (Intern)

8-week contract position (35hours/week)

The Coordinator, Digital Marketing will assist in the development and execution of ventureLAB’s digital marketing initiatives to support ventureLAB’s brand awareness. The Coordinator, Digital Marketing will support ventureLAB’s digital marketing channels, including the development of graphics and marketing materials, and updating the organization’s website. This role works closely with ventureLAB staff, clients, and tenants, as well as outside organizations and partners.


ventureLAB is a leading technology hub located in Markham in York Region, Canada’s second largest tech cluster. Through its programs focused on capital, talent, technology, and customers, ventureLAB has supported over 2,000 tech companies and entrepreneurs. ventureLAB’s innovation hub is a 50,000 square foot facility that is home to over 45 tech companies and partners. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide range of professionals, including the ventureLAB team, tech entrepreneurs, industry executives, public and private sector partners.


Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Create graphics and collateral for events, digital channels, and promotional materials as needed
  • Coordinate, update, and post content to ventureLAB’s website using WordPress
  • Write, edit, and proofread content from the ventureLAB team, and/or from contributors to our website
  • Support the logistics of online webinars
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate promotional/media campaigns in relation to external events where relevant
  • Write, gather, and schedule content for social media channels, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Other duties as required




  • Completion of, or in the process of completing, a relevant post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree program in marketing, communications, business administration, or related fields
  • Experience in marketing, communications, or event planning
  • Experience coordinating social media, newsletter, and website content posts
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet project deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Able to establish priorities and handle multiple assignments concurrently in a fast-paced work environment
  • High proficiency with web and social media platforms including, but not limited to, WordPress, Mailchimp, and Eventbrite
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite

Applicant is:
