Partner Event Coordinator - Job ID 202113

Note: This is an 8-week contract position (35 hours/week)


Reporting to the Manager, Partnerships, you will work with the ventureLAB team and partners, to work cross-functionally with the ventureLAB team to develop and execute partner events and special projects and assist in the execution of partner deliverables. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide range of professionals, including the ventureLAB team, tech entrepreneurs, industry executives, public and private sector partners.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Working cross-functionally with all ventureLAB departments, you will:

  • Plan and execute to ensure the efficient running of the Pitch Competition
  • Provide administrative and operational duties required to ensure effective event management process of the Pitch Competition
  • Outreach and relationship-building with relevant stakeholders and partners
  • Project tracking – track project progress formally and informally against outcome goals and planned timelines
  • Monitoring and proactively communicating changes in scope throughout project lifespan to the external stakeholders and internal teams
  • Communication and coordination – conduct follow-up as needed/directed, organize meetings, touch bases, share information tools such as schedules and accomplishment confirmation
  • Liaise and coordinate with internal teams on promotional and communications activities
  • Other duties as required



  • Preferred post-secondary education in public administration, business, entrepreneurship, or a related field with 1-2 years of related business experience, preferably in a not-for-profit or government organization
  • Experience as project coordinator or relevant position (or proven knowledge of project management best practices)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and G-Suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates great interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A self-starter that can work under minimal supervision and can juggle multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong service mentality and a great team player
  • Experience working with Salesforce, Eventbrite, Zoom, or Asana is an asset
  • Experience working with start-ups is an asset


Canada Summer Jobs Program Criteria

Applicant is:
