Position Profile

Reporting to the Project Manager, Venture Growth, this role will work closely with the Project Manager to support the operation and growth of the Venture Growth team with a focus on the Capital Investment Program.

 

The Venture Growth Coordinator will work with the Venture Growth (VG) Project Manager to aid with development and improvement of documentation of internal processes for VG run and supported programming as well as support in attaining strategic and performance-related team objectives. An additional area of focus for the Coordinator will be on supporting the Capital Investment Program through research, outreach and reporting. 

 

This role will assist the Venture Growth team in building processes for stronger interdepartmental communication and work with the team to improve administration, planning and coordination of advisory services. This role works closely with ventureLAB staff and clients as well as outside organizations and partners.

 

Responsibilities

The Venture Growth Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Supporting ventureLAB’s Capital Investment Program through process development, improving team communication and documentation of key activities
  • Supporting ventureLAB’s Artificial Intelligence advisory program by working closely with ventureLAB Advisors and Programs teams
  • Researching and reporting on the Canadian and International investment and start-up support environments
  • Collaborating with each of ventureLAB’s internal teams to better deliver advisory services
  • Assisting with administration, tracking and documentation of Venture Growth’s goals and objectives
  • Perform related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice

 

Qualifications

 

  • Post-Secondary Student completing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Business, Industrial engineering, Art or Humanities 
  • Experience in business process development and documentation
  • Experience in research into Canadian and International investment and start-up ecosystems
  • Data collection, analysis and reporting
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to clearly present ideas and solutions to both internal and external parties
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with many different teams within the organization
  • Familiarity with G Suite and CRMs (e.g. Salesforce)
  • An interest in technology, entrepreneurship and start-ups

 

Additional Information

 

Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, this position will work remotely for the duration of this contract. 

 

Please also note that the position availability is contingent on the approval of the Career Ready Program.

 

Candidates must meet Career Ready program criteria to be eligible for consideration:

  • Either a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or a protected person defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  • Must be registered as a full time student in a Canadian post-secondary institution program (unofficial transcript will suffice)
  • The student must not be an international student with a work permit

Compensation is $16/hr with an up-to 35-hour work week. Please note this is a contract position ending on or before December 23, 2021.
