MedEdge 2.0 is Richmond Hill’s and the GTA’s Premier Life Sciences Business Summit. The event takes place every June and gives industry professionals the opportunity to meet with entrepreneurs, investors, government agencies and key partners in Ontario’s health sector.

This panel will feature companies who have been successful selling into other provinces, and what tips and tricks you need to know to be successful.  Followed by a Q&A session.

Huda Idrees, Founder and CEO of Dot Health

Huda Idrees is the Founder and CEO of Dot Health, a real-time personal health data platform. With a background in engineering from the University of Toronto and a prolific career at some of Toronto’s best known startups including Wattpad, Wave, and Wealthsimple, her latest venture is transforming the way people access and control their own health information for good.

Huda’s work has been featured in The Globe and Mail, Metro News, CNBC, and Metro Morning. She has been recognized amongst the Top 5 CEOs in Toronto Life and as a Top 25 Women of Influence in 2017. Huda serves on the Business Innovation and Development committee at Sinai Health System and on the Canadian Federal Economic Strategy Table for Health and Biosciences.

Jane is a strong business generalist with hands on experience spanning from marketing/sales to executive management, raising capital and creating successful exits. Jane is also a solid integrative thinker, and is able to draw upon her deep business experience and broad skill sets to assist clients in strengthening their value propositions, commercializing products, forging successful strategic partnerships, improving investment readiness, and enhancing shareholder value. Jane is currently the Vice President, Partnership and External Relations at ventureLAB, and serves on the Advisory Boards of several high growth entrepreneurial ventures.

Dr. Rob Horvath

Dr. Horvath, a graduate of the University of Toronto, has practiced Family and Emergency Medicine since 1982. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine of the University of Toronto. Dr. Horvath is a former executive member of the Department of Family Medicine and Assistant Medical Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine, North York General Hospital. He has provided consulting services in health informatics to several associations, physician groups and companies. In 2001 Dr. Horvath founded Rosterware Inc., the first online scheduling service for healthcare providers in Canada, and in 2014, expanded the company under the Medevision name with a suite of on-call and advanced scheduling solutions.  He continues as the company’s President.

Zack Fisch

Zack Fisch Rothbart is CEO and Co-Founder behind Dash MD. As a patient, Zack nearly lost his leg due to developing a preventable complication after being discharged from hospital. This experience inspired him to find a better way to educate and engage patients after interacting with a healthcare provider. To date, Dash MD has launched in 9 Canadian hospitals, has over 30 partnerships in the works, and is now expanding into the United States. Dash MD has helped thousands of patients more effectively manage and coordinate care and recovery.

Paul Bradley

Paul is a healthcare industry executive with over 30 years’ experience in the Canadian medical device and pharmaceutical markets. He has held leadership roles in a wide range of functional areas at Johnson & Johnson including sales, marketing, strategic account management, human resources, and operations. As Vice President of Strategic Affairs Paul had leadership responsibility for health economics and market access, professional education, clinical and regulatory affairs, quality, health care compliance and was a member of the Management Board of the Canadian medical device division. Paul was a Board member of MEDEC, Canada’s medical technology industry association, from 2009 to 2016, holding various leadership roles over that time including Treasurer, Executive Team Member and Board Chair for the final two years. Paul is currently a Board member and Treasurer at ventureLAB, York Region’s Regional Innovation Centre, is a member of the Ontario Health Technology Committee (OHTAC) and is President of MedTech Consulting.
