In 2018, Seneca HELIX was given a $1-million grant by TD Bank through the TD Ready Challenge to launch Career Recharge – an initiative that helps re-skill and up-skill individuals at risk of job loss due to changes in the labour market. Since their launch in June 2019, they have hosted 21 workshops and have inspired over 3,100 participants to build a better career through their free workshops and online resources. “This innovative series of workshops is designed to help individuals prepare for their career future, whether that means re-entering the workforce, advancing in their field, changing careers or starting a new venture,” said Chris Dudley, Director of Entrepreneurship at Seneca. To continuing supporting individuals in their career journey, Career Recharge hosted an exclusive series of workshops focused on the COVID-19 environment. Over 1,170 individuals registered from 42 countries to learn how to effectively work from home and develop their projects during COVID-19. The exclusive series of workshops were hosted virtually and garnered over 700 page views on the Career Recharge website during the session dates. Participants had the opportunity to connect with presenters through a live chat and learn more about the free resources available through Career Recharge. The workshop videos and resources are now available on the Career Recharge website. Learn more: senecacollege.ca/recharge
