Last Updated October 13 At ventureLAB, we are committed to creating an exceptional experience for each and every one of our stakeholders, and we do that in part by ensuring the health, wellness, and safety of everyone who plays a role in our innovation ecosystem: our founders, tenants, partners, post-secondary institutions, team, and board. Together, we are supporting our local, provincial, and federal public health officials through awareness, enhanced protocol and procedures within our innovation space, and making our decisions based on the latest facts and data. Our team has been monitoring the COVID-19 with prudent caution and pragmatism, which has included facilitating an increased awareness for our staff and tenants about COVID-19 guidelines - sourced from the Public Health Agency of Canada, Ontario Ministry of Health, and York Region Public Health. The following policy changes have been made in our operations and are subject to change, as we continuously monitor and evaluate the situation, pending guidance from public health and government officials.
Updated policies, effective September 9, 2020:
- Work-from-home policy extended until further notice for all ventureLAB staff, to ensure we continue to proactively ensure the health and safety of our staff, tenants, their families, and our community.
- ventureLAB’s Innovation Space will be closed to the public until further notice.
- All events, workshops, and meetings will be moved to digital formats or postponed until further notice.
- Suspending ventureLAB’s attendance at external events and work-related travel until further notice.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will continue to share regular updates and changes to our policy as the status of COVID-19 changes. As we slowly start to re-open, we are safely and cautiously easing restrictions, but our hub remains closed to the general public and staff continue to WFH.
