We are excited to announce that Paul Bradley is ventureLAB’s new Chair of the Board. Paul has been ventureLAB’s Board Treasurer since 2015, and has served on the ventureLAB Board of Directors since 2012.

Paul is the president of MedTech Consulting, leveraging more than 30 years of experience in the Canadian medical device and pharmaceutical markets to work with healthcare sector start-ups, small companies and various supporting organizations with a focus on advancing business development initiatives. Prior, Paul was the VP, Strategic Affairs at Johnson & Johnson, where he had leadership responsibility for health economics and market access, professional education, clinical and regulatory affairs, quality, health care compliance and was a member of the Management Board.

Paul will be succeeding Karna Gupta, who had served on the ventureLAB Board since 2011. Karna was instrumental in the early years of the organization, in providing strategic leadership and advisory to the organization, championing key stakeholder partnerships and negotiating ventureLAB’s expanded innovation space in partnership with the City of Markham and IBM Canada. During his tenure, Karna provided exceptional leadership and steady stewardship to ventureLAB from his accomplished career in building high growth tech enterprises globally.  Karna will continue to serve on ventureLAB’s Board until the end of March 2023. In recognition of Karna’s long-standing service to ventureLAB, a Chair of the Board Award was introduced at ventureLAB AGM in June 2019, with the inaugural award going to Nulogy’s co-founder, Jason Tham.

Additionally, Andy Taylor will be succeeding Paul in the role of Treasurer. Andy is the Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Markham, where he leads the Corporation with his Executive Leadership Team consisting of the Commissioners of Community & Fire Services, Corporate Services, Development Services, and the City Solicitor. Andy holds a wealth of experience in both the public and private sector. Prior to joining the City in 1992, he worked 10 years in the private sector in senior positions. In 2017, Andy was elected as a Fellow by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario.

Please join us in congratulating Paul and Andy in their new roles, and thanking Karna for his ongoing commitment and support to ventureLAB and our community.
