Hyperlume Inc. provides practical solutions to address “High Energy Consumption” and “Limited Bandwidth” in data centres. The link between microchips and memory units in a datacenter is implemented with copper wire, which limits the data transfer bandwidth and wastes a big portion of energy as heat. Hyperlume's microLED-based optical link relies on the transfer of data via light, through a structure called waveguide, and can reliably connect different microchips in a high-performance computing system/datacenter in an energy-efficient and high-speed way. The energy saving provided by our technology eliminates the stringent requirements for cooling systems and hence saves "real estate" in datacenters, reduces carbon footprint and enables the systems designers to pack more computing units and address the ever-increasing processing capacity requirements of today's AI/ML applications.
