Wireless PNC is a cleantech startup developing efficient and universal wireless EV charging technology to promote standardization of EV charging and accelerate the adoption of zero-emission transport worldwide.
With the Canadian government’s national target of 100% zero-emission vehicle sales by 2035, there has been a growing demand for electric vehicles and model-compatible, user-friendly and convenient charging stations.
Wireless charging solutions are desirable options because firstly, they eliminate the need for charging cables, which are susceptible to wear and tear. Open wires serve as a safety hazard, especially in adverse weather conditions such as floods. And secondly, they can be integrated into existing infrastructure such as public parking spaces, allowing for vehicle charging while the EV owners engage in everyday activities like shopping and dining.

Description of technology used:
We present a high-speed wireless charging system designed for seamless integration into existing public charging infrastructure. With transportation accounting for 74% of global carbon dioxide emissions, an easily integrated EV charging solution that removes the anxiety for consumers switching from gas to electric transport will have significant benefits for our planet in reduction of harmful emissions.
Our technology is safe and functional in cold-weather outdoor environments and can sustain itself through seasonal debris, snowfall, or rain in the air gap. This is ideal for affordable, low-maintenance shared charging near multi-use residential buildings where compact weather resistant outdoor charging is required.
We also intend to integrate our technology with AI as a future prospect. This addition will address the issue of real-time monitoring and on-the-spot charging issue resolution, especially for urban fleet applications such as public EV sharing programs.
