ventureLAB Hosts Virtual Demo Day

July 21, 2020

At ventureLAB, we’re committed to providing exceptional experiences for our founders and ecosystem stakeholders on their journey. Through our tailored programs focused on capital, talent, technology, and customers, we work closely with our partners, innovators, and tech leaders to grow Canadian global tech-titans.

The Capital Investment Program (CIP) is for companies who are ready to scale. The ventureLAB team provides founders and their teams with a combination of services designed specifically to prepare companies for investment and rapid growth. The intensive program helps entrepreneurs craft a compelling pitch, connect with strategically aligned investors, and coordinate a long-term capital strategy with the guidance of our advisors.

“ventureLAB’s Capital Investment Program is designed to help companies chart a path toward positive cash flow and self-sustainability. We assist in the development of cash flow forecasts that identify the size and timing of potential funding requirements. If outside investment capital is required, we support company efforts to raise capital from debt and equity VCs, Angels, government sources and potential strategic investors.”

          – Chris Cory, Venture Growth Advisor

On Wednesday, we held our first virtual CIP Demo Day. Twelve ventureLAB-supported companies had the opportunity to pitch to a group of twenty investors from multiple investment companies. Among the investors that attended were York Angels, Maple Leaf Angels, Amplify Capital, Hero Ventures, RiSC Capital, and Real Ventures. Opportunities like these help our companies hone their pitching skills and develop a robust network of investors, giving them a global competitive advantage.

We heard pitches from twelve CIP companies:

  1. Able Innovations Inc.
  2. Boss Insights.
  3. HelloAxis
  4. Homewise
  5. Intelense
  6. OpenHouse A.I.
  7. SuiteSpot
  8. Taku Labs
  9. TROES
  10. Zero Energy Water
  11. Hyperion
  12. Phyxable

Boss Insights CEO and Co-Founder Keren Moynihan was one of the ventureLAB companies pitching at CIP Demo Day. She says:

“It was great working with ventureLAB to get demo-ready. ventureLAB led an in-depth preparation session that included a detailed approach to pitching. The session addressed topics that are often glossed over, and encouraged us to change our go-to-market strategy dramatically. ventureLAB always goes above and beyond, and the 1-on-1 coaching prepared us for the challenging questions that come up when talking with investors. We’re so grateful to be part of the program.”
